After everything we have discussed regarding investments, social security and jobs; are you concerned about your financial security?  What specifics are you going to do to PLAN for the future or are you planning on working the rest of your life?

I am very concerned with my financial future. I am going to say there will be no way I will get any social security when I retire. I need to figure out how to invest my money wisely for the future. For example, I plan to start a Roth IRA account before I leave for college. This way, if all else fails, I will have a fall back plan. Once I graduate, hopefully my job has a retirement package. Being a teacher, this should not be a problem. I may also invest in some stocks, and leave them in long term. With my Roth, my teacher’s retirement package, and some stock money, I hopefully will have enough to retire.

Considering how unstable many of the retirement funds like social security are, I am very concerned with my financial future and well-being. It's most likely that I will not be able to rely on social security for retirement. Like many others, I need to learn how to invest my money wisely for the future. For example, like mostly everyone else, I will start a Roth IRA account before I leave for higher studies and collage. This way, if social security fails, I will still have some money to fall back on when I need to retire. My prefered career choice of a graphic designer might have a retirement package, depending on if I join a company or do solo work. Once I learn how to get money into stocks, I will also rely on those investments as well. Hopefully, if all goes well, will be able to live out retirement with relative ease.

Right now I am not a very good money saver. I know that will have to change very soon with me going to college. I am concerned about my financial security. I do plan on working the rest of my life.

I am absolutely concerned with my financial security. It would be hard to find anybody who is completely satisfied and content about all of their financial matters. All my life I have been a saver, not a spender. Even more so as college is approaching, I love finding ways to stretch a dollar. I have been very successful thus far, saving most of my income and getting great deals on what I do buy. I plan to continue to put these abilities to use as time goes on. The day I turn eighteen, I will be starting a Roth IRA account. I plan on making annual contributions to that, usually as much as I can afford at the time. That will be part of my retirement plan, pending on the condition of the economy. Considering the job I do get, I plan on working as long as I possibly can to better prepare for retirement. What we learned about the job security for a computer science graduate today makes me feel better about my financial future.

I am concerned with my financial future. For most of my life, I have been a saver. I have always seen the importance of saving up money and not spending it on every little thing. I will have to learn to try and save even more with college this fall. I also plan to get a Roth IRA when I graduate. I will put money into that every single year until I retire to make sure I have money saved for my retirement years. I also hope to get a well paying job and putting money into the stock market as well as other things that will hopefully build money over time. I hope to get a good engineering job, and keep that job until i retire. Hopefully by doing all of these things, my financial future will be in line.

The government will be of little to no help I think in the future as far as helping people as they get older. I believe that I need to start saving for my future now. I also need to be financially careful now so I don't pile up alot of bills. By being careful and working when I'm in college I hope to keep my bills down so I don't have alot to repay. While I'm in college I hope to train for a job that will not only pay me a living wage but will all so open other doors of growth for me. I hope to open a retirement account soon and start putting a little money in it every month.

This past week discussing the economy, investments, jobs, and social security has really opened my eyes about future preparation. You can't really just depend on someone else to support you, that just isn't right or wise. I would like to start some kind of ROTH account after graduation. Even though putting money into it will be hard during college, I will really start adding to it after college while I am working. I do not want to work my whole life, I would like to be able to travel at some point in my life. Depending on what I make, I would like to set a portion of it away every month to a retirement fund. Also it would be wise, if I do have children, to start some kind of financial savings for them early in their own lives. I feel like I will be able to support myself, save for my future, and not depend on social security.

I am concerned about my financial security, but not desperately so. I understand that I will probably have almost no social security benefits, or none at all. However, this doesn't concern me much, as I plan on saving for retirement on my own anyways. I feel good about job security, as the number of biochemistry jobs are constantly growing. As these jobs are high paying, I feel confident that I will have enough to put away for retirement, as long as I work on my spending habits and learn to save more.

I am concerned about my financial security in the future as well. I understand that the social security system is not in good shape right now. However, I have faith that once these baby-boomer retirees are through, the social security system will balance itself out and be able to offer me benefits when I am about ready to retire. I am planning on starting a Roth IRA after graduation and when I have a stable job, I will put money into that Roth annually. Being a teacher, I should have a retirement package, and with my Roth investments I hopefully will have enough to retire and live a comfortable Golden Years.

I am very concerned with my future and my financial security. I am thinking that I will not get Social Security, so I have to plan differently. I will need to figure out how to save my money. I also plan on getting a Roth account either before I leave for college or sometime during my college time. Once I get my job I will hopefully have a retirement package. If I end up being a teacher that will not be a problem for me at all. Hopefully that will help me get through with the other money I have saved also.

My financial future is of utmost importance to me. That's my future I have to worry about. I'm not entirely sure how I want to save, but I'm sure that I don't want to start putting money into anything until after college. I don't want to be that broke kid at college. I am still indifferent about a Roth, I don't like the thought of my money being tied up for that long. So as of right now I'm still undecided about how I want to save, I just know that I don't want to start until I get a steady grip on things in college.

Like everybody else, I am very concerned about my financial future. There are predictions that Social Security won't last long enough for our generation to get any of the benefits. Because of this, I am not planning on being able to collect Social Security. I have started a ROTH account, and although not much gets added to it, I will start adding as soon as I get a stable job to be able fund it. I also tend to be a "spender" and I need to get rid of those habits as soon as possible! I have been getting better about it, because I know I will be headed to college next year and not have much spending money. Every time I get my paycheck, I put 10% of it into my savings account. It might not be much, but it adds up pretty quick, and I usually don't pull money out of my savings account.

I am concerned about my future and what I will do financially. It's hard to say if social security will be around when we get older, but with how the government's been pulling from it looks doubtful. Unless there's progress made here in the near future, we wont have anything. Right now I have an Education Roth that my parents set up for me. To be honest though, I'm not really sure about the whole putting away money deal. I know it's good to save money, and be aware of what you will do down the road, but I would rather invest my money into something more stable like land. Land is about the safest place for your money, although it is very high right now. I am not sure what I'm going to do yet to prepare for the future.

I am very uneasy about my financial future. As soon as I graduate from college and get a steady income, I will start a Roth IRA. I will be saving up as much money as I can during college, but I don't feel comfortable putting it away just yet. If I would and I ended up completely broke, which will most likely happen anyway, I won't be able to get my money back out without having to pay it with a bunch of tax. I think that saving my money during college and learning how to live in the real world on my own is what needs to happen first. Once I have a little more experience under my belt, I will get a financial adviser to help guide me in how to spend my money. Luckily, being a teacher, I will get retirement benefits. But on the other hand, I don't know what the future will hold and how much I will get out of any of my retirement funds. I am just going to have to roll the dice and take my chances so that I have a better shot at being able to retire at 65 and live comfortably on what money I have.

Yes I am concerned about my financial security. Most of the time the people aren’t happy with their financial things. I will be saving some of my money like I have been in a savings account but I will also invest some into a Roth IRA account and maybe some stocks if I feel I could get money out of the deal. I haven’t really been a huge spender and I can keep my spending under control. I don’t think I will have a problem in college with spending money on things I don’t need. Usually if I buy something, it is because I have wanted it for a long time and I have saved up for it by working.

To be completely honest, I'm not really all that concerned with my financial security for the future. I've heard people say that if you enjoy what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. It makes sense that you'll go to college for something that you'll enjoy, so I am really not too concerned about not liking my job. I think for the most part, with what I plan on going into, I won't be that big of a deal to work the rest of my life. Another thing I have to take into consideration is getting married later on down the road. Hopefully between the two of us we could have a decent income.

After learning about investments and social security, I do worry about my future. Right now I am not going to depends on Social Security. Saying that, I will need to start planning for the future. It does worry me some because I am not very good with my money. I tend to spend it as I get it. Hopefully with college I can learn to not spend money on things I do not necessarily need. Right now I could start saving money and taking maybe half my pay checks and put them away into my savings account. Then when I do get a steady income I can start a ROTH account and start saving money to put in that account so I will be prepared for when I retire. I do not plan on working for the rest of my life and I am not going to depend on Social Security to save me from being broke after I retire.

I am not concerned about my future economic state. I know that my job is highly needed and I will be able to be pickier when I search out an employer and receive better benefits because they need people with my skill set. I will choose a company that treats their employees well when they retire. Even with this retirement plan, I still plan on saving money in the Roth or the 401K and other accounts for retirement the day I start working, after college. Even if my engineering falls through, I can fall back to the Greger ranch since I am the only one of my family that has shown any interest in it. Chemical engineering is a job that will not die out like some careers. I feel pretty secure for the future, even without government help.

I am concerned about my financial security in the future. I do not think that social security will be there when I someday retire. I know that I will probably have to set money aside so I have some when I do decide to retire. I have already done some investments since my cousin does that for a living. I feel safe investing my money and know that I have someone to trust with it. As in the future I plan on starting a ROTH so I will for sure have security when I get older. I do plan on working during my life but also retiring at some point.

I am concerned about my financial future, who isn't everybody likes money. I have talked to my parents about getting a Roth started. When I go to college, I won't put as much in it annually. When I graduate and get a good steady job, I will put more into it annually. Hopefully it brings a load of money I turn 65.

I am a little worried about my financial security. But I think that the job I plan on going into will be highly needed. Sense I cant really rely on Social Security in the future I plan to start saving soon. I want to start a Roth IRA account but I don't want to be that poor kid in college with no money. So maybe I will start one, but wont start adding money to it until after college.

I am very concerned with my financial future. By the way things are going, I don't think I will be able to rely on social security when I retire. I need to start thinking on how to invest my money to benefit me in the future. I plan on starting a ROTH before I leave for college. If all else fails, I will have the ROTH to fall back on. Hopefully, my job will provide me with a good retirement package. With any luck, I will have enough money to retire and not have to work for the rest of my life.

All the talking we have done about the economy, investments, and social security has made me very concerned with my future. I don't think Social Security will be there when I get older, so I need to plan differently. I plan on starting a ROTH account after graduation even though it will be hard putting the money away. Once I get a steady job, I will start saving a certain amount each month. I also hope that the job I get will have some sort of benefits that will help my family and I out. I hope with all of this I will be able to retire when I am about 65 to 70 years old.

After everything we have discussed concerning investments, social security, and jobs i am very concerned about my financial situation. I plan on getting a Roth as soon as i turn 18, so when i am old enough to retire i don't have to depend on the working generation. I plan on saving my money and using it wisely.

I am definitely concerned with my financial future. I have not been the best saver throughout high school, so I will have to make up for that. Plus, if social security will no longer exist, I will have to save even more. Hopefully the government will find a solution to the job situation, although I honestly don't think I will have problems with that. I am not planning on working for the rest of my life. I will open a retirement account to save my money for later, and I will work as much as I can to put as much money as I can into it.

I was always worried about where I would go and what I would do with my life when I graduated school. Never gave it much thought about how I would gain and achieve my future, nor was I certain about how much it would cost. Now that it is coming up fast and I will soon be on my own. I am very concerned about my financial security. How will I be able to secure a safe hold for my financial stability and keep up on the rising prices. I will try to get a career where hopefully there will be a retirement package and benefits. I will rely on my main source of income to keep life moving forward. I will definitely want to put money away for my retirement and keep working till that point in my life.

I am slightly concerned with my financial security, but only because I won't have support from my parents when I first "leave the nest." Dad refuses to help me. I plan on starting a Roth IRA account in December of this coming year, even though I'd prefer to work until I die. I find baking easy, and something I enjoy. I bake at home almost every day, as long as I have some supplies. If I'm going to bake everyday, I might as well get paid for it!

I am very worried about my financial stability down the road, I am planning on starting a Roth account once I graduate from high school. As for a job there will always be demand for people in the culinary industry.Nobody that I know always cooks at home, people always want to eat out for special occasions or because they do not know what to cook.
Retirement should not be a problem if I invest my money wisely. Investing and saving money will be difficult as I have never really done that before, when you are in high school you do not have to worry about bills, food. Your parents or guardians take care of that for you.

Blaine F. said...

Well the time we've spent in class going over Social Security and everything else, I am kinda worried about my financial security. I plan on starting a Roth when I am old enough. I plan on putting a decent amount in a year so if Social Security isn't there when I'm old enough to receive the benefits I will be set.

Kelsey K. said...

I do think about my financial security later in life. I am planning on starting a Roth Account before I go to college so I know when I retire I will have money. I also plan on being a teacher so I know they will have a retirement package. I think with a Roth and my teaching retirement benefits, I will be able to retire and not worry about money.

Brianna M. said...

To be honest, I'm not that worried about my financial security because I know that with my future job, I will be able to take care of myself. I am going to start a ROTH when I turn 18 and put at least $1000 in there a year. I think that that is really something important to focus on for anyone's future.

Danial F said...

I am a little worried that some of the benefits available for today's retirees will not be around when i retire. So I will have to plan, I plan on starting a ROTH. I also do not plan on retiring too early in my life. I may invest in some classic cars because they always keep their value.

Marcus O said...

I already have an anuity with the Knights of Columbus that I can draw out of when I am 55. Then I will have social security...maybe....when i'm 70?? I will be getting a ROTH as soon as I can. I have been terrible at saving so far and I need to get with it. If I could have a million by the time I truely retire. That would be awesome.

Jonathan E. said...

I am not worried about my financial security in my future. I already know that I will have a good successful business in my future, I just have to go to college to get it. With this business i plan on working until I am to crippled to work anymore. I do plan on starting a ROTH as soon as i can for that day when i can no longer work.
