After briefly covering the federal budget, think about the money that you spend and what you could eliminate from your expenses. What could you live without? When you go on your own, what might not be as important as it is now?
I spend a lot of money on my animals and on gas driving back and forth to work. I spend money at basketball games and soon speech meets. I don't think I could go without food. I don't want my animals to starve either but I'm sure I could cut down on how much I give Copper and Annabelle. I have to have a job to get money, and I have to have money to get to my job. When I get to college, eating out at places like McDonald's or any other expensive places are going to have to stop. I will have to cut down on eating out and start buying food to eat at college like ramen noodles. I'll be working at McDonald's while I'm in college so I can be making money while I'm there. Money is going to be very important to me later in life so I should start saving now.
I could live without a television, or a video game system. When I do go out on my own, keeping up with the latest pop-culture news will certainly not be important to me as it is now.
A budget is a very important thing to have in your daily life. In my budget I would include all the essentials of life: food, water, shelter, and utilities. When I am living on my own, these will be the four items that I will need to have in order to survive. Buying luxury things such as video games, and fast food I could live without. I could also cut back on my fuel costs, because I could always walk or ride a bicycle to places I need to go. When I am on my own, I believe that I will cut down on what I live with now. The things that are luxuries to me now may not be important to me in the future. That's part of growing up and getting your priorities in line.
I don't spend much of the money that I earn right now, but I could probably spend even less yet. Before I go to work I usually go to the store and buy myself a supper. I could eliminate this spending by making myself some sandwiches and bringing them to work with me. I also spend a decent amount of money buying video games and stuff related to entertainment. I could probably live without the entertainment, but I don't think it would help me all that much to get rid of it because I don't spend very much money on it to begin with. When I go and live on my own I will have to pay more attention to my money and spend it much smarter.
Things that I mostly spend my money on would be gas. Other expenses that I have are paying my phone bill, paying for my car, paying for my computer, and paying for whatever I want to go out and do. I can't really cut out anything that I have in my budget now because it's things that I will need. I could live without going out as much as I do though. When I'm out on my own, going out probably won't be quite as important because I'll be working and going to college at the same time.
There are a lot of things that I can spend money on now, but when I'm on my own the one that I'll stop spending so much on is fast food. I'm not going to never eat there again, but I'll cut it down a good amount. Pop is another thing that I won't buy as much when I'm on my own. It's not cheap, and I drink way too many a day. If I don't buy those two things as much when I'm on my own, it'll save me some extra cash.
I think budgets are something that everyone should have. Even if you are still in high school. There is always that temptation to want to go out with your friends and sometimes that means paying for something. I could probably live with out getting my hair done just about every month. Its about $60 more I could have for other expenses like gas or my car bill. When I go to college, getting my hair done would be less important and something that I could live without. The money spent on eating joints such as McDonald's, Pizza Hut or Dairy Queen could easily be avoided. The things that I have now won't be as important to me in the future because I will have a different understanding of what a budget is.
The thing I would cut down on would be the money for pop and fast food. I will have to start saving that money for my gas money and other expenses for college.
There are many things that I waste money on and probably shouldn’t. The first thing that I could remove from my budget would be my second pickup. I have put way too much money into it already and don’t need to put any more in it. I could cut back on my hobby spending such as Fishing, Hunting, Snowmobiling, and stuff like that. When I am living on my own I will not be able to spend as much money on stupid stuff like I do now. I will have to focus more on what is essential like paying bill, food, and clothing. I could probably live without a house phone because I could use my cell phone. I will also have to be more conservative with my traveling, because I will not be able to afford as much fuel as I do now. Another area that I need to cut back on is my junk food spending.
Something that I could probably live without would be all the tv that we have now. When I'm on my own I could probably go without that. With today's technology you can get online and watch a show if you really need to or Netflix it. I could also probably limit my driving to save some money. Instead of driving everyplace that I need to go I could choose to walk or ride a bike and that way you would be saving on gas money. When I leave for college something that probably won't be as important as it is now is all the clothes that I have. I will have to limit my spending when I go shopping to save that money for something else. When I'm gone at college I will also try to limit my eating out. This way you aren't spending money on food when you are already paying for a meal plan at school.
After covering the federal budget and your personal budget, I have been thinking about my own budget I will need to create. Currently I don’t buy much because I live with my grandparents who provide everything for me. One thing I think I will need to cut back on is driving. Since I will be on a campus, I will look into a bus pass. I will also walk to most my engineering classes if I get into the Able-Sandoz complex. Also, I already have plenty of jackets so I will not need to spend money on unnecessary jacket purchases like I do now. With my persistent lung problems, I will need to set aside money for the medicine that helps me. Currently I do not make very many unnecessary purchases. I’ve learned to live without most my life so it will not be hard for me to live on essentials. To map out what I can spend I will use an excel worksheet like I do now.
Right now, I don’t spend much money. Right now, I have a place to live, but in the future, I have to fit housing into my budget. Also, in my budget, there must be food. Right now, my parents buy most of the food, so I don’t have to worry about that until later. My parents also pay for my cell phone, so I only have to pay for gas for my car. I also have some that I spend on other non-essential things, such as fast food and entertainment. If I needed to, I could cut back on gas by traveling less, and I could cut fast food out of my budget.
When I go to college, I am debating on whether to drive my car, or get a bike that I can drive around campus. This would cut down on gas tremendously, but it would be useless once the weather turns south. In addition, at college, I will cut back on the money I spend on food, because I will just buy a meal plan from the college. Therefore, I will not spend as much on junk food. In college, my housing will also be paid for, so I won’t have to worry about that until after I graduate.
I don't spend that much money, but when I do it is usually on food or hanging out with friends. I could cut this down by not going out to eat as much and when ever I go somewhere don't spend my money on things I don't need.
Being a girl, I get my hair cut and colored once every two months. That is not a necessity, and I realize that I can do without it and get by with box dyes from a convenience store. I also have a basic phone that doesn't have internet, which makes my bill about ten dollars a month on my dad's plan. I won't "upgrade" to a smartphone because I will already have a computer with internet. As for food, I eat mostly healthy foods, like fresh fruits and vegetables. Although a little more expensive, I don't want to be unhealthy out on my own. I already have two jobs because my dad is teaching me to have responsibility, which will be in my favor when I go to college and be on my own. I save most of my money now, but those are some things that I could change.
There are many things that we spend money on on a daily basis. There are also things that we can separate into things that we need to live with, and things that we could live without. In my budget, I would include only the essentials that I would need such as: food water and shelter. For me, a car is defiantly something I need, since I will be going to college away from here. Something I could live without, however, would possibly be gas. If I was more fuel conscious, I could save money. Another thing i could cut would be things such as TV, Xbox, and other utilities that I use as a form of entertainment. I could also learn to buy less things and don't eat out at all. Cutting many of those things would cause my money flow to increase. To have more money in my budget, I have to stop buying the things that I don't need and only buy the things that I actually do.
Thinking about what I spend my money on I could eliminate a lot of things. Instead of going and eating out, I could wait until I get home, even if it is late, and eat then. I could also cut down on just getting a drink from First Stop. They might seem to be cheap, but when you add it all up it comes to be a lot. When I go shopping I get just what I need, not everything I see. Instead of driving everywhere I go I can walk if it isn't to far. I also could ride with other people at times. I could live without a lot of the clothes I buy. I tend to buy a lot of clothes, but never wear them. Another thing I could live without is the television in my room. I can simply just watch television in the living room instead of going to my room. When I leave and am on my own having dish will not be as important. I don't need to pay extra for that. Getting my hair done when I am by myself will have to stop. Spending $60 on just my hair will not be important to me at all.
I could eliminate obvious things from my current budget, like Xbox games, gadget upgrades, and my cell phone plan, but I really don't spend much of my money on anything other than those things right now. When I go off to live on my own, I will definitely be budgeting my money. I will try to eat out as least as possible, and I will also try to curb any impulse purchase decisions. I will have to buy necessities like food, clothing, and gas, but I will try and keep it to a minimum. Xbox games probably won't be as important to me as they are now, but in reality I will still probably buy them. I might just have to wait a few weeks until they go down a little. They are the things that I can always stop purchasing or sell if an emergency arrises.
I could eliminate TV because everything can be found on the internet now days. The internet would be a thing I would want to have. I could cut back on fast food, pop, and candy for work and get into a better habit before I go to college. I probably wouldn’t drive around looking for coyotes some days. Cut back on going ice fishing long distances away and could try to find a pond close by. The deer hunting could be cut if it had to be but I will always like to hunt. I don’t have to waste money on hunting and fishing licenses because I have them for lifetime already. I wouldn’t be eliminating too much but after awhile it all adds up. I have a few jobs to always keep me busy and to keep the money coming in. Saving up for college now and then after I start making lots of money in my career I will eventually get more luxuries I want to have when I can afford them, like four wheelers, more guns, hunting dogs, go on hunting trips and things like that.
I could live without going to the grocery store or the gas station spending money on food and pop. Going out to eat wont be hard not to do. Just eat leftovers or eat whatever mother is making. Having television is another item that I can live without. I wouldn't have to worry about my phone because it's a constant price and doesn't go up if I use it more than normally do. Spending money on clothes is no problem with me for reason I buy majority of my clothes from garage sales and Good Wills, they have name brand clothes just a cheaper price. I have noticed I have been using more gas than I normally do so for college I'd just walk to my classes or ride a bike. For my hair I didn't spend that much money just like ten bucks, but I'd just not have to worry about my hair getting colored because I got close enough to my natural hair color that you cant tell the difference so that's ten dollars back into my pocket. Getting my hair cut, I normally have my aunt to do it for free, but I can just as easily do it myself without traveling to Iowa to just get my hair done. I can live without buying items that are pointless to buy. Other than that I’d be saving money every day.
I don’t really spend money very often. But when I do spend money on something for myself it is usually something that I will have for a while and that I will use, such as running shoes. I think I will live pretty simple when I go to school. I don’t buy a lot of cloths right now, so I won’t in the future either. Some of the cloths I do buy though are t-shirts from the school, and I could live without buying them all the time. I really never go out to eat, so that won’t change much. I will just pay for a meal plan instead of eating fast food everyday. Right now my parents pay for my gas, so I will start paying for that next year. I can’t think of anything that might not be as important as it is now. I pretty much have my priorities: God, family, friends, and staying in shape and those won’t change much.
When I go on my own, I will probably have to cut back on clothes, food and living arrangement will be a priority, I don't have to worry about that know, but I will have to soon enough. I know how to bedget fairly well, if I don't have the cash for it in my pocket I don't even use my debit card unless I absolutely need it.
I would pry cut buying stuff at the gas station out as much as possible. It seems like im always stopping there for a pop here or a candy bar there. I would also try not to eat out as much i go get food from roadrunner or first stop quite frequently.
Things I could live without spending money would probably be how often I go out to eat, gas usage, and impulsive buys. I could eat things I find at home more often instead of just stopping somewhere to get something quick. To save a good amount of money I could not make as many trips out of town as I do now. I could find things here in town to occupy my time. As for impulsive buys I just need to slow down and think about what I am buying and if I really need it. I buy a lot of clothes and shoes that I hardly ever wear. Next year when I am on my own I am really going to cut down on eating out, not only for costs sake, but waistline sake. A lot of the food you go out and eat isn't the healthiest for you either. Also I plan on driving a lot less. The things I will need will all be in a close proximity and I can just walk to them. I just need to be more responsible with money, especially if I do not plan to get a job right away.
I spend a lot of money on unnecessary things. Like clothes. They are necessary, but more than likely I do not need as many as I have. I can cut down on not going to such expensive places to buy my clothing. Another thing it seems like I spend a lot on is my hair. I could go without getting it colored. I also spend a lot on food and drinks. There are a lot of things that I can cut down on that will help me save extra money for college.
Right now, I tend to buy a lot of snacks after school. I could go without those. Other than that I don't really spend a whole lot of money, except for gas. When I go on my own, television will probably not be a necessity for me. Also when I'm on my own I will probably pay a little bit more attention to everywhere I go and how much gas I'm using.
Right now, I tend to spend my money on things I really don't absolutely need. Sometimes it's just little things, like a pop at lunch, and sometimes it is really expensive things like clothes and shoes when I go shopping. Either way, I definitely need to cut down on the unnecessary spending before next year! I work almost everyday after school, so that will be some extra spending money I'll be missing next year. Things like driving around with friends and going out to eat probably won't be as important to me in the future. I am not going to stop doing those things all together, but it's something I definitely need to cut down on.
Although I most likely should, I do not have a budget. I do not pay close attention to the money I spend or gain, but if I had to eliminate something from my expenses I would eliminate spending on extra food. Obviously eating is important, but I always seem to be stopping to purchase something I don't need. I could live without excess snacks and buying bottled drinks that I hardly ever finish. When I am on my own I will not be able to spend money on some of the pointless things I do now. I will have a budget by the time I start college next year.
Right now I probably drive around to much, so when I go out on my own I am going to have not drive around as much so I can save that money for gas money when I actually need to go somewhere. Another thing is I drink way to much pop so I'm going to have to stop drinking as much.
I do not spend my money on a lot of things but there are some things I can cut out.Stop getting fast food. The money I save from fast food I can put away for college. Cut back on the number of songs I get from iTunes would help a little. Most of my money is going towards paying off my pickup. I should have it paid by the middle of this year, then that money could be used towards college.
There are many things that I can think of that I don't really need. Next year especially i will have to start budgeting my money. For one thing I don't need to watch as much tv. When I go to college I won't have as much free time as I do now to just go and watch tv. Another thing that I could cut down on is driving anywhere and everywhere. I won't be able to afford as much gas as I can now. I could also cut down on buying so much junk food that I don't need.
I believe a blog is very important. It will keep things in check and will help maintain financial stability. There will be a tight budget for me to live on at first, but I'm hoping that later it will be able to find some room for other things such as fishing more, camping, amusement parks and so on. I am sure that I can live without tv, games and other entertainment when I am on my own for a few years so that being cut from my budget won't be too bad. There are however things always to consider in a budget. I will always have to consider gas, bills, and food.
I go back and forth all the time to town. Not just for work but also because I go to the gas station to get a pop. I could probably eliminate pop from my expenses and probably eating out all the time. I could live without a ipod because that's what I spend most of my time on when I'm not working. I can't think of anything that might not be as important as it now.
As I look at it now, I spend a lot of money on things that are not that important. When I go shopping, I usually go way over what I should be spending. I could also cut down on eating out and spending money when I'm with my friends. When I am on my own, I will cut down on driving everywhere. I could ride my bike or walk. I would also cut down on my shopping habits. I would go into the store and come out with only the things I needed. I would also cut down on going out all the time. It can be very costly renting movies or going to movies all the time. I could just watch them on Netflix or the internet. If I did these things, I would save some money that I would use for more important things or emergencies.
I don't really spend my money very often. I don't get my hair done, go out to eat, or shop very often. However, I would say I spend most of my money on gas. When I am on my own that is one thing I will have to cut back on. I will also do my best to eliminate eating out completely. After a while, eating out can really add up. I will only buy food that's necessary and steer clear of restaurants. I know I could also live without television. Watching T.v. is something that is not as important as other things like paying my own bills. Since I don't shop very much now I don't think I will when I am on my own. I have always tried to be careful about what I spend my money on, and I think in the future I will continue to budget my spending habits.
I don't have many expenses, because I don't have any money of my own. I know that I wish my parents would cut out the things that they don't need. My father doesn't need a smartphone, and we don't need the second most expensive Direct TV package. When I go out on my own, I plan on only paying for an unlimited call and text plan (because I talk to much), my basic bills, rent for an apartment, and groceries. I don't like eating out unless it's an extremely special occasion. I also would be living in a very large city, so walking would be a better option in my mind, and would save me the money for a gym membership.
I have already had to cut back on my spending when my car died in order to save up money for a new one. When I go to college I will now have a car loan payment hanging over my head so that will take a large chunk out of my budget. I will be living in the dorms so i will just have to pay for food, gas, and my phone. THere will probobly be some school expenses in there. But other than that there should be nothing else I need to buy...untill car repairs come up. I still also make payments to my parents....might as well rack up the debt while your young...

At the moment I am spending money on a lot of things I don't necessarily need. First of all, I could drink a lot less pop and eat a lot less fast food. I've spent a lot of money on snowboard gear that I could do without. When I go on my own, snowboarding and video games would definitely not be as important as they are now.

Right now i spend way to much on gas. That would be the number one thing I need to cut down on is driving around. I also spend way to much on guns and hunting supplies. I also have three deer in the freezer already to help with the food money. Other than that I my house will probably be cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer than most to save on electricity bills.
